Although my monitor supports 2K at 144Hz and I utilize a DP cable, I can't get it to piece of work at maximum settings. The 144Hz selection doesn't even show upwardly in Windows Display Settings or NVIDIA Control Panel. ( included photos) Could the DP cable exist broken? Or does the problem lie somewhere else?
My monitor model :HP x27i IPS

Theoretically you should exist able to use the monitor at native resolution(2560×1440) at 144 Hz . Even DP 1.2 supports 2560×1440 at 144Hz DP i.ii Specs If you desire to run the monitor at 144 Hz you demand to disable any G-Sync or vertical sync or Freesync on both of your monitor and Nvidia Control Panel.

I take now tried connecting my monitor with a HDMI cable and it works equally intended (2K@144Hz). Does this mean that the DP cable is malfunctioning?

It sounds like it may be an older 1st gen DP cable or it's bad.

If you desire to run the monitor at 144 Hz y'all need to disable any G-Sync or vertical sync or Freesync on both of your monitor and Nvidia Control Console.
I'k curious of your source for this proffer. Why would y'all disable Freesync ? The unabridged point of Freesync is to smoothen out game play by syncing a monitor and gpu refresh rate...information technology has zilch to do with enabling the 144hz refresh rate on a monitor.

Aye Freesync functionality is to smooth gaming feel but it doesn't work with Nvidia GPU

Yes Freesync functionality is to smooth gaming experience but it doesn't work with Nvidia GPU
Newer Nvidia GPUs exercise work with Freesync monitors...they accept for a while now. The 2060 is 1 of those cards that will work with a Freesync monitor. There are some lower quality monitors Nvidia didn't back up initially, but I know the listing of supported Freesync monitors is larger now.
Reddit users are reporting the HP x27i IPS monitor every bit total functional with Thou-sync enabled in the Nvidia control panel.

Yes you are correct even LG Ultragear Monitors support Yard-Sync also merely they are non certified by Nvidia. If there is any monitor that has Freesync but not certified to exist used with G-Sync so information technology might have modest issues with syncing the FPS amd Monitor refresh rate due to the discrepancies. See the video attached. It might be Grand-Sync compatible just has no assurance to work.

Isn't G-Sync only working via DP cable but not HDMI 2.0. It does work in HDMI ii.1 cablevision and monitors.
